Meet Alex Amos
Hi, I’m Alex Amos! I’ve been a staff member at Camp Big Heart since 2021 and am passionate about creating meaningful, inclusive experiences for individuals with disabilities. I live in Perry, Georgia, and have spent the past seven years teaching special education. I currently teach in the Houston County School District. My family includes my husband, our son (who is under a year old), and our dog, Sanford. In our free time, we love being outdoors—especially at the beach—spending time with friends and family, and cheering on UGA football.
Camp Big Heart means inclusion. At CBH we create a space where individuals with disabilities are seen, valued, and given the freedom to be fully themselves. Camp Big Heart represents inclusion in action, not just in words. Camp Big Heart builds a unique community for our staff and campers. Here, differences aren’t obstacles; they’re part of what makes the camp strong and meaningful. We get the privilege of empowering others—staff, volunteers, and campers—to believe in their abilities and to support one another.
