Meet Ryn Smith
Hi, my name is Ryn and I am originally from Georgia, but I just recently moved to Michigan. I am currently a Special Education Teacher and specialize in ASD. I have been working at Camp Big Heart since 2023 and serve on Support Staff where I help run our Social Media platforms. In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, collecting coffee mugs, and hanging out with my friends and family. Being apart of the CBH Support Staff has been such an amazing experience and I hope to continue for many more years to come!
There aren’t enough words to express how much Camp Big Heart means to me. My journey to CBH was completely unexpected.I received a last-minute call just a few days before camp asking if I could come work, and at the time, I had never even heard of the camp. When I decided to go, I was scared because I didn’t know a single staff member or camper. However, within the first hour of arriving, I felt an overwhelming sense of acceptance and family. Camp Big Heart welcomed me with open arms and immediately made me feel at home. Within the first two days, I was absolutely amazed by how every staff member was there out of genuine love for the camp and the campers.The people I have met at Camp Big Heart have truly changed my life for the better, and I now find myself counting down the days until we are all back at camp again.
